TEXAS BACK INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES
ADDITION OF NEW PHYSICIAN
DENTON, TEXAS
– February 3, 2006
– Texas Back Institute (TBI) is proud to announce the newest
member of their team, Jason Marchetti, M.D. He will be
practicing in the Denton and Hurst locations.
“Dr.
Marchetti has trained with some of the finest medical teams in
the Dallas area,” said Scott L. Blumenthal, M.D., spine surgeon
and president of Texas Back Institute. “We are pleased to
have him on our team of physicians.”
Marchetti
specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and
focuses on the prevention, rehabilitation and non-operative
treatment of occupational, sports and spine injuries. As part of
his training in PM&R, he also performs electrodiagnostic testing
and lumbar injections for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
He has served as the Medical Director, a member of the Physician
Advisory Committee and volunteer doctor at the Collin County
Adult Clinic. He was also Chief Resident of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center.
“I chose to
work for Texas Back Institute because I was attracted by the
blend of private and corporate practice, combined with academics
and research,” said Marchetti. “And of course, the great
history and reputation of the practice.”
Marchetti
attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he graduated
cum laude and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and the
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where
he received his doctorate. He served his residency training for
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor University
Medical Center and an internship in Internal Medicine at
Parkland Health and Hospital System, both in Dallas.
He has held lectures in Introduction and Medical Management of
Stroke and Introduction to Traumatic Brain Injury for Texas
Women’s University School of Occupational Therapy. Marchetti is
a member of the North American Spine Society, International
Spine Intervention Society, Physiatric Association of Spine,
Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, Texas Medical
Association, American Medical Association, Denton County Medical
Society and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation.
