MISSION STATEMENT
The CoPE program at Texas Back Institute is to be the premier organization in the state of Texas specializing in the comprehensive, interdisciplinary assessment and rehabilitation of patients having long-term pain. We exist to enhance the lives of the persons served by promoting restoration of physical, psychological function and social health through the provision of quality care delivered by a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who utilizing proven and innovative ways to promote positive outcomes for the persons served, the staff and the business.
VISION
At the CoPE Program, we see ourselves as an organization:

- with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals working together in an environment that promotes innovative ideas to increase the chances of positive outcomes for injured people who seek to improve their physical and/or psychological well-being and return to work.
PURPOSE AND GOALS
At the CoPE Program, we dedicate ourselves to:
- Provide a complete review of patients' medical, psychological and pain problems.
- Develop individualized approaches to helping patients improve physical functioning, reduce the use of pain medications, gain emotional control and learn pain coping strategies.
- Reduce or eliminate use of multiple, ineffective services to Chronic Pain patients at Texas Back Institute.
- Maintain open and complete communication between patients, staff and insurers.
- Help patients become self-sufficient in managing pain, with decreased dependence on medical providers.
- Reduce overall costs of treatment by early identification and intervention with patients who have potential pain management problems.
- Provide ongoing, objective documentation of program effectiveness by conducting internal outcome studies.
- Achieve significant base of referrals to CoPE program from non-TBI sources, including physicians, employers and insurers.
- Maintain continuous quality improvement by systematically examining program satisfaction of patients, referring doctors and third party payers.
- Obtain CARF certification.
