Virginia Burdell
- Trans1 AxiaLIF Surgery
Virginia Burdell is an active grandmother with
three rambunctious grandchildren. She was devastated by her
inability to play with them or simply go on walks.
“I was in so much pain that I wasn’t a lot of
fun to be around,” said Burdell. “I was constantly taking pain
medications, but still wasn’t in any shape to be active.”
Virginia had a Trans1 AxiaLIF surgery at Texas
Back Institute on May 15, 2006 and is now playing with her
grandchildren and living the life she should.
“I was interested in the surgery because the
incision was so much less intrusive than a traditional fusion,” said
Burdell.
Virginia reached the recovery room at 10:30
a.m. on the morning of her surgery and was up and walking by 1:00
p.m. that same day. Ten days later, she was taking walks with her
grandchildren and remembering what it was like to play with them.
“I really realized how much I missed once I got
back into the swing of things,” said Burdell. “I’m off the pain
medications and ready to live my life again. My surgery was a
complete success!”
